personal development concept on blackboard

When people are smiling, familes, communities and businesses thrive.

My ultimate objective as a Health Coach  is to get you smiling more, inside and out. It’s all about improving the way you care for yourself  and manage relationships.

I work with people (individuals, whole families and corporates) who need practical and sustainable ways to manage the demands of everyday life. The key to this is knowing how to nurture your ’health & well-being’ everyday without it having an huge impact on your time.

My approach to the coaching relationship is a combination of COUNSELLOR, MENTOR & MOTIVATOR. I draw on the theories and techniques used in Positive Psychology and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to cultivate a life long committment to one’s health and well-being. I’ve been working in this field for 12 years so there’s not much I haven’t seen, heard or dealt with.

One belief I have which I like people to know is that maintaining ‘good health’ does not require you to completely abolish fun from your life. I assure you I ’walk the talk’ in this regard and will help you to find the balance too.

I work in blocks of 6 sessions (hourly or half hourly) which start off weekly then as the demand for support lessens we move to fortnightly and then to monthly sessions.

We are a team, a partnership; we are working towards the same vision – it’s your vision.
Your role is to simply to hold the vision, my role is to help you navigate the best way towards it with minimal disruption to your current life and relationships

Please, don’t procastinate another minute, your health (which governs wealth and happiness) is at stake here so call me now, it will be the first step to a smilier you.

Smiling Testimonials

“Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed working with you last year and I’m happy to report that I’m now a true convert of your ‘something is better than nothing’ philosophy. I’m managing to do your 10 minute home workout 2 – 3 times each week and I’m definitely handling the demands of my work schedule so much better. I feel strong and positive which is exactly what I was wanting to achieve and the best part is that I really haven’t needed to make any major changes to the way I live. You’re a great coach and mentor Jo!”

“I was very active during my school years then I practically stopped exercising. I met Jo in January 2001 and she coerced me in to the studio for a workout, I have been there ever since! I couldn’t live without it, the workouts keep me strong and healthy and Jo keeps me sane and smiling.”

“Jo has passion for her work with a capital P!  She combines the ability to provide solid practical support as well as good moral support when it comes to working with you on your personal health goals. I find Jo energising, genuine and inspiring.”

“In my mid 40’s I started to get injuries, knees, back, shoulder, you name it, I was really packing up! Should I have to give up tennis, walking etc.? Something had to change, and it did. I started a long relationship with Jo & the team at ‘Urban Workout’. What a difference, I’m generally stronger; I have good core strength and balance, and best of all I’m injury free. I’m now 53 and fitter than I ever was in my early 40’s, I haven’t given up anything and I’m not about to. . .”
